Gov. Tom Wolf’s $24 million package to help Pennsylvania farmers has passed its first test in the Legislature. During budget hearings this week, Appropriations Committee members in both chambers appeared generally favorable to the proposal.

Gov. Tom Wolf is planning the most ambitious expansion of Pennsylvania’s ag programs in his tenure. Some $24 million of the $160 million ag budget has been dubbed the PA Farm Bill, a package designed to improve the business climate and support system for the state’s farmers.
